The ACCESS A1 mouse, three-quarter hero render

A computer mouse redesigned around repairability. The A1 drops disposable AA batteries for friction and solar charging, comes apart with ordinary tools, and is built from recycled material and e-waste.

What I did

  • Traced the e-waste back to its causes (poor repairability, short lifespans, disposable batteries) and validated them with users.
  • Designed the ergonomics, the exploded modular assembly, and the friction and solar energy systems.
  • Validated lifecycle impact in SimaPro, and designed a packaging mechanism with a 15° unboxing reveal.
